Nailsworth Goodwill Evening
Mon, 1 Dec 2025Printable version
Christmas has begun!
We enjoyed singing at the Nailsworth Goodwill Evening on November 28th and, we hope, added to the festive fun and wonder being organised around the town. Despite downpours around lunchtime, the evening was dry and really quite mild. Nevertheless, a few cups of mulled wine warmed up some of our voices before the singing. A varied programme of traditional carols and some jolly Christmas songs seemed to be enjoyed by all the folks who gathered to listen, some staying around for the full 45 minutes, and giving us some warm applause. Any apprehension about having donkeys sharing Cossack Square with us proved to be unfounded—our peaceful rendition of Little Donkey must have calmed any braying!

The Stuart Singers Annual Dinner
2025
Forty one super sopranos, amazing altos, terrific tenors and brilliant basses as well as our awesome Accompanist, marvellous Musical Director, a few fabulous Friends of the Stuart Singers (FOSS) and many of their perfect partners braved heavy rain and howling winds to get to The Old Lodge, Minch Common on November 14th for the Stuart Singers Social Event of the Year. Inside, the atmosphere was warm and convivial and it turned out to be
an excellent and relaxing evening of delicious food and great company. After dinner, well-known
local comedienne Sam Day had us all in stitches with her brand of very perceptive sharp humour and we even finished off the evening with a little singalong. All great fun!
